Effective September 27, 2026
The short version: Calenta processes your health data on your own devices. By default, Calenta collects and transmits nothing. There is one optional, off-by-default program — contributing pseudonymized data to improve meal detection — which runs only if you explicitly turn it on through an in-app consent screen, described below.
With your permission, Calenta reads the following from Apple's HealthKit and Motion & Fitness frameworks on your iPhone and Apple Watch:
All of this is processed on your devices. Meal detections, calorie history, and everything you log are stored locally on your iPhone.
Unless you opt in to the contribution program below, Calenta sends no health data, no analytics, and no identifiers to us or to anyone else. There are no ads, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs. We never sell data.
In Profile → Data Contribution, you can choose to help improve Calenta's meal detection. This is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, you will first see a consent screen describing exactly what is shared; only after you agree does anything upload.
Your app data lives on your devices: deleting the Calenta app deletes it. You can also revoke Calenta's Health access at any time in the iPhone Settings app → Privacy & Security → Health. Contributed training data (if you opted in) is deletable on request as described above.
Calenta provides estimates for general wellness purposes. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
